5th Uswathunnabi
International Academic Conference
The 5th Uswathunnabi International Academic Conference 2026, organised by SSF India, was held under the theme “The Prophet ﷺ in Motion: Travel, Migration, and the Ethics of Connection.” Continuing its commitment to interdisciplinary academic engagement with the life, teachings, legacy, and universal message of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, the conference took place in two sessions: on 3 September at Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi, and on 9 September at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Hyderabad.
The conference was organised in academic collaboration with the Department of Islamic Studies, Jamia Hamdard; the Department of Arabic, MANUU; and Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, Germany, with academic engagement from Aligarh Muslim University. Its international dimension was strengthened by the participation of Dr. Besnik Sinani of Tübingen’s Institute for Hadith Studies and Prophetic Tradition. The conference received over 1,000 abstracts from nine countries, reflecting its growing international reach.
Following academic review, approximately 120 research papers were presented across both sessions through in-person and online participation. Scholars, faculty members, and emerging researchers explored migration, mobility, ethics, diplomacy, social relations, knowledge exchange, environmental concerns, and contemporary issues through the Prophetic tradition. The conference marked another significant step in advancing international scholarly dialogue on Seerah studies and the Prophetic legacy.
