The Uswathunnabi International Academic Conference stands as a remarkable effort to bring the light of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ’s teachings into the modern academic world. Organized annually by the Sunni Students’ Federation (SSF) India, in collaboration with various universities and research departments, the conference has become a confluence of intellect, devotion, and intercultural dialogue.
Through the years, this platform has encouraged meaningful academic inquiry into how the Seerah — the life and character of the Prophet ﷺ — has shaped societies, inspired literature, and guided moral values across generations. The Prophet’s message of mercy, justice, and unity resonates deeply in a world increasingly in need of compassion and balance.
The 4th edition of the conference, held at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Hyderabad, in September 2025, explored the theme “The Prophet in Many Tongues: Biographical Traditions of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in Indian Languages, Genres, and Communities.” Scholars presented studies on the ways Indian literature — from Urdu and Malayalam to Tamil and Bengali — reflects love and reverence for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
Beyond its academic purpose, Uswathunnabi serves as a call to revive our connection with the Seerah, not merely as history, but as a living example of perfect character and timeless wisdom. In uniting faith and knowledge, the conference reminds us that true education must enlighten both the mind and the heart.
